Our regular active maintenance program allows us to observe the health of your mouth. We will educate you on current standards of care in the prevention of disease. We will actively contribute to the achievement of oral health within your teeth, gum tissues, and underlying jaw bone. At your first dental hygiene appointment at Casey Dentists, a comprehensive periodontal examination of your gums and jaw bone will be completed to assess the health state, followed by a series of digital radiographs and a panoramic (nose to chin; ear to ear) view called an OPG will be taken with the lastest Sirona Cone Beam Volumetric Tomography Machine.
Subsequent removal of bacteria that infect along the gum line and below the gum will be removed as these bacteria cause the gums to swell, bleed, and sometimes detach from the tooth and be painful.
On completion of your appointment, a fluoride mouth rinse will be administered to strengthen your tooth enamel and leave your mouth feeling fresh and clean.
Your hygienist will recommend a personalised home care program with specific areas for you to focus on for your next active maintenance appointment.
